Kutu? No, not the creepy crawly bugs. I'm talking 'bout the one related to $$

I recently joined a group of friends to "main kutu". How is it played? Well, when a number of pax agrees to contribute a certain sum of moolah each month (it can be weekly, fortnightly you name it) and gives the collected amount to one player in each collection period, then it's called "main kutu". Don't ask me where it got its name from coz I have no idea.

I have been asked to main kutu many times before tapi I was a scaredy cat. Bukan apa, takut I can't make the monthly contributions and also I worry endlessly about the possibility of the group disbanding before it reaches my turn to get the duit kutu. So it's of utmost importance that you main kutu with only people you really know and trust.

Anyway, for this round an officemate said she needs just a few hundred dollars to....lemme see, i forgot what it was but I think it was to buy an Arcopal set tapi for sure it was related to Arcopal. She said "Kita main 5 org je lah, RM100 per month for 5 months". Well, since it's just for a short period and for just RM100 per month, why not kan.

At first I was thinking, I nak be the last receiver lah. Kira nye, when I finally got my RM400 (excluding my own RM 100 of course), lepas tu I tak payah contribute anymore. Can joli katak kat Isetan for a day. Then another colleague, a kutu connoisseur, adviced, "Mimi, it's better to take your turn early becoz it's like getting a loan interest free. If your turn is the last, then you rugi bcoz a dollar today is less than a dollar yesterday!" Huh...I never thot of it that way before but she's absolutely right of course. Dalam subjek Perdagangan pun they taught you this. Of course, impact nyer tak lah too big bcoz the time frame is small...but the principal is there.

Anyway this kutu group grew from 5 pax to 10 and I was like...wah, lama nye nak kena contribute. So someone suggested to break up the collected amount to 2 pax...i.e. each month, 2 members will receive RM400. All in all, within the 10 month cycle, each person jadi Pakcik/Makcik Kayo twice. Now this, I can tolerate. Lagipun, nak spend RM800 in one shot is way too easy for the likes of me!

Well so there...it's my first time main kutu and I cannot wait for my 1st turn at end December - purposely chosen to augment my company bonus (if ada...usually ada...GOD please let there be one) and not to mention the timing coincides with all those lovely year end sale, warehouse sale and stock clearance muaaahaha. Second round Makcik Kayo is Mar 07... properly planned to coincide with MATTA fair. Smart eh...? heh heh

Haze, haze go away...come again another day?? Nevaaah

It's hazy in my hometown due to forest fires thousands of kilometers away. My hometown recorded the highest reading in the whole of Malaysia last weekend (194 a.k.a the high side of "unhealthy" range, bordering on "very unhealthy") *sigh*

Wish it's now as clear as the time I was in KK, July 06 (see pic).

I'm quite upset that the Education Minister wanted to wait until 300 pts to give options for schools to close. Get this, the "very unhealthy" level ranges from 200 - 300. Anything above 300, well..u might as well stick your head in your car exhaust. Must we wait till the air is toxic for the schools to close? Pazzo, if u ask me.

Someone do something about it, please....... *gag*

Well for me, it's necessary. I wanted to post a comment on my friend's blog and I had to be a blogger to do that. Ceh....

Now that I've registered, I'd better go put up that comment. Will I ever update my blog? hhmmpph... let me ponder that.
